Mark James on Homeland Security
Director Resigning
JEFFERSON CITY, September 8, 2005—As a result
of Michael Chapman’s resignation as Director of Homeland Security,
Mark James Director of Public Safety will assume all responsibility
and duties previously held by Chapman.
“I appreciate the sacrifices Mike has endured
to serve in this capacity as my homeland security director,”
James said. “I respect his decision to return home to St. Louis
to his wife and two young children. During his tenure, several homeland
security projects have been initiated which are being carried out
by various DPS divisions which I will continue to oversee, ensuring
a more secure state.”
