Comments: Jeff Taylor died from his injuries suffered when he was struck by lightning while helping in search and rescue efforts in Joplin. He was assisting in disaster response May 23 when he was struck by lightning during thunderstorms that moved through the Joplin area a day after the deadly tornado. He was part of a 12-member contingent of police officers, firefighters and public works staff members from Riverside.
