| Comments: | Sergeant King, 50, was sitting in his marked police car at the intersection of Leland Avenue and Delmar Boulevard at about 10:20 p.m. when a convicted drug dealer walked up to the car and fired several shot from a handgun, killing him. The suspect was arrested five days later following a traffic stop by members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The 25-year veteran of the department was married and a life long resident of University City. |
